Balanced Body Chiropractic was established in 2008 by Dr. Simone Aybar who wanted to find true body balance using natural chiropractic philosophy. Today, Balanced Body Chiropractic is a team of highly qualified and experienced chiropractors servicing the City of Knox – including Boronia, Wantirna, Bayswater, and Ferntree Gully. True to its foundations, Balanced Body Chiropractic has also added highly qualified and experienced complementary therapies – such as nutrition, remedial massage and aromatherapy – to provide a collaborative approach to health and wellness.
Our mission is to educate and empower our patients to make better health choices and improve the quality of their lives through chiropractic care and a collaborative approach to health and wellbeing.
A collaborative approach to health supports your body’s innate wisdom to heal and repair itself.
Each system in our body – circulatory, digestive, endocrine, etc – constantly communicates with each other. However, when an injury, illness or chronic condition sets in, the communication between those systems is often interrupted or shut down completely and the body’s ability to heal is compromised. Our practice philosophy focuses on reopening those lines of communication because with it, your body’s ability to heal and repair itself increases exponentially.

What is Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a drug- and surgery- free primary healthcare discipline that helps manage and prevent mechanical disorders of the muscles and joints in the body, while also providing you with exercises and other wellness advice to help you manage your pain yourself.
What is chiropractic care?
The practice of chiropractic focuses on your structure (mainly the bones of your spine and pelvis) and your function (as coordinated by your nervous system). The relationship between structure and function will affect how well your brain, spinal cord and nerves coordinate the everyday living of your body, your ability to heal and your optimal interaction with your environment.
What does your nervous system do and what does that have to do with your spine?
Your nervous system controls and coordinates every cell, tissue and organ in your body. Your spine protects your nervous system and allows for movement and flexibility. When your spine loses normal motion or position, it can affect the way your nerves work and interfere with normal daily activities, which may lead to poor health.
Types of Chiropractic Care
At Balanced Body Chiropractic we offer three types of care:
Our initial intensive care focuses on symptomatic relief. Generally, a patient will experience postural pain, numbness or tingling in an area, or a specific injury. Our goal with initial intensive care is to resolve the issues and help you become fully functional again. Issues managed with this type of care generally improves within four to six visits.
Reconstructive or rehabilitative care is often less frequent and incorporates exercises aimed at retraining old habits and nutritional support to help heal and repair joints, nerves and muscles.
We also offer long-term care to manage chronic pain and conditions. Chiropractic care may be appropriate for some chronic conditions however, this is dependent on your individual needs and is usually in collaboration with your general practitioner.
Tailored Individual Care
At Balanced Body Chiropractic, each case is managed individually, taking your history into account to tailor a treatment plan specific to your condition, needs and goals. We conduct a thorough exam and, based on our findings, we may arrange for special tests or X-rays.
Your presenting complaint and health concerns are always top-of-mind and will determine the development of your schedule of care. We will arrange regular reviews to ensure we’re on track with your expected level of improvement and changes will be made to mirror your health goals. We may also incorporate exercise and nutritional support to ensure long-term improvement and sustainable outcomes for your health. How long you choose to benefit from chiropractic care is entirely up to you.
